Walk from Casa Ana:

Take the steep path onto the rough lower mountain road beneath Casa Ana. Turn left and walk for approximately 10 minutes just past the top of the valley, pass a sweet chestnut tree below as the road turns to the right and begins to follow the other side of the valley. Here look out for the Sendero sign at the bottom of the start of the mule track bearing up on left of road. Simply folllow this track...which curves and twists up the mountain with breath taking views and the village of Polopos becoming smaller and more distant as you climb past almond trees, and small cultivated terraces to the heights wher the low grape vines grow. (I have been fortunate enough to see an extended family of wild boar...a pure delight crossing our track as we walked this route...about 10 of them!)

Eventually you pass vines on the top of the track...just before the track joins the tarmac road...
Turn right onto this road and you will pass a villa in the distance on left...After a few hundred yards you will see a track going off to your right...which you need to follow...

From this track you get the most amazing views into the next valley and over to the far reaching coastline...When part way down you will get to an option to either branch off to the left or continue on this route which bears to the right and continue on what becomes the lower road and leads you back to Casa Ana...Polopos village soon comes back into view.

These photos were taken in the Autumn...however in the Spring everything would be greener with wild flowers and herbs of lavender and thyme and rosemary and fennel...

This walk is steep in places and takes approximately 1 1/2 -2 hours...
